Hierax (pronunciation – /hi.é.raːks) — from the ancient Greek ἱέραξ, meaning “hawk” — embodies clarity, precision, and the power of focused vision. The hawk, long revered for its keen sight and poise, reflects the essence of strategic leadership: seeing the whole landscape, discerning patterns, and acting with speed and intent. It symbolises a commitment to insight — recognising the true potential and lasting impact of exceptional leaders.
The name also honours Hierax the philosopher, an early thinker on change and transformation — the only constants in life and leadership. His belief that progress arises from understanding and adapting to change mirrors our mission: to help organisations evolve through inspired leadership. Hierax thus stands for perception and progress — the spirit behind our work and our enduring partnerships.

Our Story
Hierax is a new name, but our team have deep roots. Initially meeting at Russell Reynolds Associates, our founding team subsequently established our business within a US challenger before maturing and carving out as an independent and deeply specialist firm. Our client industries have unique and specific dynamics that require a consistent depth and seriousness of expertise.
Our experience is commensurately deep, extensive, and genuine.
